Have you ever wondered about the
political leanings of the companies you do business with?
The Buy Blue organization has
collected information on who gave what to candidates of each political
party in the 2004 election cycle. The data was compiled from
contributions of top company officers and the corporate PACs (Political
Action Committees), of companies that have a PAC.
The table at the right lists some
well-known companies that made at least 80 percent of their political
contributions to either Republicans or Democrats. Many corporations,
particularly in heavily regulated businesses such as banking, donate to
both sides.
Buy Blue is a liberal
organization, but its findings are of interest to all. The information
