Our last issue carried an article about the Malcolm Baldrige Program, which Superintendent Terry Holliday is aggressively implementing in the Iredell-Statesville Schools. Many, perhaps most, teachers oppose the program.

We know that the Record & Landmark was informed about Baldrige as long ago as last summer. But the newspaper chose to not print a word until after the school bond election.

In recent weeks the Record & Landmark has published some good, informative stories about the program and its critics. As they say, “better late than never.” Just remember that we were the first news outlet to report anything about the Baldrige program in the ISS Schools.
